The revival of the vintage Chanel bag

Vintage Chanel handbags are back, and in more demand than ever. The vintage bags, while still offering space and lots of function, are more true to the Coco Chanel style than some of the newer bags that Karl Lagerfeld has designed in the past year. 

It’s amazing how well these vintage bags have held up over the years, which is a testament to how well made they were in the first place. You'll find the stitching is still tight, and even the Lambskin bags which have always had a few scratches here and there (as is natural to their soft leather) are still strong, sturdy and have many years of life left to them.

The come back of the vintage Chanel bag has a lot to do with pricing as well. With the ever increasing prices at Chanel, while it may be unaffordable to purchase a single wallet new, you can still buy a nice vintage bag for just a little more.

I've had customers tell me that they'd rather own a vintage Chanel bag than a brand new one because of the huge price difference. They can now buy two vintage bags for the price of one new bag. I was absolutely amazed to see the look on my 17 year old daughter’s face when she saw one of my vintage bags.  She loved it!  And just recently Victoria Beckham was seen looking at a vintage Chanel bag while shopping at a vintage store in L.A. So not only is price a factor, but the vintage bags still have that "look" we all have come to love about Chanel.

Vintage Chanel is not only a smart investment, but one of the few designer handbags that you can buy, use & enjoy that will still retain its value years later!
